PROSAFE is currently developing an e-learning system as part of the EMARS II project, mainly funded by the European Commission. It is important to note that this is only a pilot project and for now will only have training material related to the General Product Safety Directive.
This training is for market surveillance officials. However, in the future, PROSAFE is also thinking of how to extend not only the content but also to address training to external stakeholders too, in particular, the business sector.
The e-learning system is earmarked to be online by the third quarter of 2010. Workshops will also be organised by the end of this year to compliment the material being thought in this e-learning system, as part of a blended learning approach that PROSAFE is trying to develop.
