The ICPSC is a platform to facilitate the exchange of information on consumer product safety issues in the area of governmental policy, legislation and market surveillance with a view to strengthening the collaboration and cooperation among governments and regulatory agencies around the world.
Current active members of the ICPSC are representatives from several countries in Asia, Australasia, North and South America and Europe. Regulators of several other countries have shown interest in becoming active in ICPSC.
The sharing and dissemination of information, the collaboration and the co-operation is carried out in accordance with the applicable statutes of the respective government or regulatory agency.
The Caucus meets at least twice a year with additional meetings, if required. The Caucus recently held a mini-workshop on product traceability in conjunction with the ICPHSO Annual Meeting in Florida in February and is planning a larger workshop on recall effectiveness in February 2010.
