Training

PROSAFE considers training as an important integral process for any market surveillance organisation. Currently, PROSAFE, through Task E of the EMARS-II Project (an EU Funded Joint Action Project), is trying to further develop and fine-tune a training strategy at European Level based on the initial outline highlighted within EMARS-I. The strategy foresees a programme based around six pillars. These are

  1. National training in Member States
  2. Web based learning
  3. Workshops
  4. Exchange of officials
  5. Joint projects
  6. Train the trainers

A number of pilot schemes will be carried out over the coming months. Initiatives are envisaged to include the launch of an on-line web-based training tool for market surveillance officers some time early next year in 2010.

In view of the importance of training amongst market surveillance authorities, a lot of effort will initially be focused upon ensuring that the Top Senior Managers within market surveillance authorities are fully on-board and agree with the main strategy to be adopted for this task.

Detailed work plans and initial build-up of information needed will mainly be done by the Task Group itself. However, a strong participation and liaison process with all the stakeholders is also envisaged. More information about the objectives of this particular task group can be found by following this link. For further information, please contact the PROSAFE Secretariat on prosafe@emars.eu .
