NEREA RUIZ


Nerea Ruiz Fuente (f) – MSc. Environmental Pollution and Toxicology and BSc. in Environmental Science – is ECOS Programme Manager working on Ecodesign regulatory and standardisation activities, and is responsible for several Horizon 2020 projects on the monitoring, verification and enforcement of the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling regulations. Prior to that, she worked on waste technical-policy issues for a Brussels-based federation, as a consultant on the ecodesign regulatory process, and as a sustainability project officer in green public procurement and conservation of natural sites.

ECOS has been contributing to the Ecodesign process for over a decade, from the regulatory level to the development of standards, to strengthening and promoting market surveillance activities. ECOS represents a network of 49 European and international environmental NGOs and is engaged in 300 standardisation groups within European and international standardisation systems.

BRAM SOENEN


Bram Soenen graduated as a Master in applied bio-engineering with a specialisation in chemistry. Since 2012 he is the Belgian delegate for the Ecodesign Regulatory Committee. The last few years he closely follows topics on resource efficiency and circular economy in Brussels. His professional interests include environmental product policy and standardisation, environmental foot-printing, ecodesign, material efficiency and circular economy, including new business models. He enjoys studying technical policy issues, discovering and exploring new topics and discussions and exchanges views with stakeholders.

Tim Stokes manages Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland’s Market Surveillance Programme with responsibility for ecodesign, energy labelling and tyre labelling. Tim has more than 20 years’ experience in the field of sustainable energy. His experience includes the establishment of the Centre for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technologies (CREST) in Northern Ireland and the development of a carbon neutral programme for Exmoor National Park in the UK. Tim has a MSc in Environmental and Waste Management and is a qualified Passive House Consultant.

 RONALD PIERS DE RAVESCHOOT


Ronald Piers de Raveschoot is a mechanical engineer (Université Catholique de Louvain) with a MSc in Environmental Management (Imperial College of London). After working in energy-related industries for seven years he moved to the public sector, first in the Brussels Capital Region administration for environment and energy, where he headed the energy sub-division, and then at the European Commission. In the period 2009-2016 he has been working at the Joint Research Centre (JRC), the Commission's science and knowledge service. He was in charge of providing scientific support to the several EU initiatives and projects in the field of energy end environment. In 2017 he moved to DG ENER as Policy Officer in the field of energy efficiency of products (Ecodesign and Energy Labelling). He is mainly focusing on product groups such as electric motors and their applications (pumps, fans …), as well as market surveillance.
