Head of Monitoring of the Market Surveillance System Unit at UOKiK, Poland and JA2016 Electrical Appliances Task Leader

Katarzyna Bednarz UOKIKKatarzyna Bednarz is the Head of Monitoring of the Market Surveillance System Unit in the Market Surveillance Department since 2008. She is responsible for the implementation and enforcement of the EU law in the field of consumer product safety and market surveillance, the coordination and planning activities of the Trade Inspection and for the international cooperation. She represents Poland on European fora on Market Surveillance, such as ADCOs (Administrative Co-operation Working Group) and IMP-MSG (Expert Group on the Internal Market for Products – Market Surveillance Group). Katarzyna also supervises the Polish Rapex and ICSMS Contact Points.

In 1999 she graduated from the Krakow Academy of Economics, Faculty of Economic and Political International Relations and, in 2008, from the National School of Public Administration, in Warsaw. Katarzyna Bednarz has more than 12 years experience in public administration and assisting in audits of the European Court of Auditors on custom service issues as an auditor of the Supreme Chamber of Control (National Audit Office). She represents the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) within PROSAFE since 2008. She was a member of the PROSAFE Board in 2010-2017.
